Leadership

Randy Lexvold President & CEO

Randy has 22 years of experience in all aspects of software development, from real-time robotics navigation to on-line grocery web applications. Most recently Randy worked for 8 years at IBM Rational Software as a technical sales specialist, consultant and worldwide subject matter expert in Software Architecture. He has consulted with a wide range of clients in many market sectors, including financials, technology, and large government R&D laboratories. Prior to joining The Emphasys Group, Randy was the CTO at CenterPoint Care Solutions.

Lee Ackerman VP Products & CTO

Lee has spent the last 17 years investigating and evaluating new ideas, designing and developing solutions and helping others to do the same. He has had significant impact in the area of software reuse with a focus on Patterns-Based Engineering, Asset-Based Development and Service-Oriented Architecture. Prior to joining The Emphasys Group, Lee spent 11 years with IBM and in recognition of his technical leadership was designated as an IBM Sr. Certified IT Specialist. During this time with IBM, Lee assisted IBM customers, business partners and IBM employees to improve how they delivered software. Lee’s books, articles and courses have been used to enable thousands in best practice based approaches to software delivery.

Craig Rudman VP Services & CSO

Craig is a rare blend of software engineer and organizational change management professional with over 20 years experience planning, implementing, and managing software engineering projects and business process improvement initiatives. His areas of technical expertise are software development lifecycle management, IT governance, processes and tools. He is a creative thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making and follow-through capabilities. Craig has over 12 years experience working with the Unified Process and with agile methods. He has helped dozens of organizations raise levels of engagement and overall achievement through planning, technology implementation, process improvement, coaching, training, and communication.

Mark Lines, Agile Innovator 

Mark is a “Disciplined Agile” specialist and has been building software for over 20 years. Iterative and Agile Project Management are his passions. During his career he has acted as lead in most aspects of the software development lifecycle, including Lead Architect, Analyst and Project Manager. He operates as a coach for organisations and projects seeking to improve their capability and maturity in the adoption of software development best practices. He is also an IBM developerWorks Contributing Author, and is a technical reviewer of manuscripts for IBM Press and Addison-Wesley. Mark writes for publications such as the IBM Rational Edge, the Agile Journal, and is an Agile dZone MVP author.

Chris Gerken, Development Genius   

Chris is a developer with 30 years of experience and 13 patents in Object-Oriented Development (OOD), Integrated Development Environment (IDE) architectures and Model-Driven Development (MDD) practices.  He conceived and prototyped what became IBM Rational's strategic Model-Driven Development platform, tooling and best practices. Since leaving IBM he has created a set of next generation MDD tooling and practices which he uses to help clients pay off technical debt and improve their maturity model rankings - resulting in organizations that can architect and deliver better software more quickly and efficiently.
